Life lately

Hi I'm Katrina~ Welcome to Live Beautifully! We connect on all things life, love, motherhood, careers, and overcoming obstacles, together.

Hi beautiful!

Happy Friday 🙂 I’m just sitting down with my coffee before the house wakes up. Life over the last couple weeks has been, well… slow and sick. Bella caught something in pre-school and she was out of school for 12 days! Brian and I caught it and were sick all last week and we’re finally on the mend.

I don’t think either of us have been sick since 2019, because we’ve been at home. It hit us hard… and there’s nothing worse than feeling sick and trying to take care of another lil human (a cute lil human that just wants to play). I wanted so badly to be energetic for Bella, but it’s been hard. And every night she’s up between around midnight and 3am because she gets so stuffed up. Anyway… for anyone that isn’t feeling well right now, my heart is with you. And if your family or kids are sick too… I’m sending all the well wishes. This sh** is hard.

So what did we do at home? We played a lot of ‘Dr.’ We also painted and watched Minnie Mouse when I needed to get some work done. I also took a much needed social media break, which I highly recommend when you’re feeling overwhelmed or if your family needs more of you. I just removed the app from my phone and it was amazing to be disconnected, but connected to our family and health for a week.

To help get better, we’ve been making all the green smoothies, ginger wellness shots, juices, and soups (I think we did soup every night for 5 nights) . Here’s one of our go-to recipes. Bella even loved it!

Get Well Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 tsp spirulina powder
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein

If you saw on Instagram… we also had our first thunder and lightening storm with Bella. We counted between the lightening and thunder and she loved it. It reminded me of being back home in New Hampshire and watching storms over the lake. A lot of you asked how it’s her first storm (crazy right!?) and it’s because we don’t really get a lot of lightening in California. Whenever there has been a storm, it was either after she went to bed or she was too young to understand. Now she’s old enough to understand that it was Maui from from Moana roaring the sky, lol.

Sending my love to you this weekend,

- Katrina

We got the preschool cold in our house too! It’s that much harder with Covid because even a little cough puts everyone on edge. (But I’m the same way so I don’t blame anyone.)It’s all part of the learning and growing experience! And thank goodness for Mama juice! My son thought thunder was a big garbage truck driving down the street! 🍷Sending you love and good vibes! 💓
