This past Mother’s Day I went on a Mother’s Day retreat with 3 of my best girlfriends from college and all of our moms. We talked about doing a trip like this for years and it was so beautiful to see it come to life. We all feel so grateful to have each other and our health in this season of life. We laughed, cried, and created memories we’ll cherish forever.
Thanks to all your ideas on Instagram, we had a lot of fun activities planned. From lounge time to poolside charcuterie boards, surprise massages, ice-cream sundaes, mother-daughter photos, and more, we felt so relaxed and fulfilled after a long weekend.
If you’re looking for a sign to plan a girl’s trip or a mother-and-daughter getaway… this is your sign to book the trip!
GIFTING
I arrived to the house early and set up all the rooms with gifting from some of my favorite brands. Thank you to all the amazing women who connected with us and sent such generous gifting!
- Business & Pleasure Cooler Bags, Beach Towels, and the most beautiful floats for the pool
- Tiny Tags gifted the most beautiful birthstone necklaces
- Summer Fridays Skincare ~ Lip Butter, Jetlag Mask, Eye Gel & Lip Oil
- Caliray Beauty ~ So Blown Primer, Superbloom Cheek + Lip Tint, Mascara, & Setting Spray
- Athleta Retreat Linen & Yoga Sets
- Lake and Skye Perfume
- Organic wine, De Soi mocktails, Jade rollers, and facemasks
DINING
We really wanted to stay at the house, so we planned out our meals to cook together. We grilled the first night, made tacos the second night, a chef came to the house the third night, and we made delicious charcuterie boards and brunches each day! Mocktails, champagne, and ice-cream sundaes were flowing!
Activities
We mostly just lounged by the pool, shared stories and reminisced on the last couple of decades together. We did put the moms up to a relay race, which was hilarious. Each day was filled with morning workouts, food prep, music, pool lounging, and relaxation. One service we did book was surprise massages for the moms, which they loved.
Capturing Memories
The biggest hit was a mother-daughter photoshoot. My sister-in-law Katherine Scott Photography set it up with a local photographer in Scottsdale, Cori Teeter. There’s nothing better than having photos to hold onto forever. We all dressed up and took pictures over golden hour.
I hope this post inspires you to book a little weekend getaway with your loved ones!
Sending all my love,
