Podcast 003: It’s Not Too Late For You

Hi I'm Katrina~ Welcome to Live Beautifully! We connect on all things life, love, motherhood, careers, and overcoming obstacles, together.

Hi beautiful,

I had another episode scheduled, but I’ve been receiving a lot of texts this week asking a consistent question… ‘what if it’s too late for me’? and comments like, “I’m afraid to start”.

I heard worries of changing careers, dating, hobbies, starting a new passion project, and building a new business. I also received a lot of messages feeling like it was too late for you to find love or a purpose. I really felt like I needed to connect with you today about this… and I want you to know that’s It’s Not Too Late For You!

I poured my heart into this… and I can’t wait to hear from you after the show!

Shownotes

Women who prove it’s not too late for YOU!

  • Jane Fonda started her fitness career after 40
  • Vera Wang became a fashion designer at 40
  • Harriette Thompson became a marathon runner at 76
  • Sally Ketcher – she changed careers and went to school to become a nurse at 65 and is still a nurse at 90 years old…
  • Toni Morrison became a Nobel Prize novelist at 40 years old
  • Oprah took a bold step and started her own network OWN at 57
  • Lastly, my favorite, Lorraine Sheinberg— Who spoke at a the Little market non profit brunch became an activist after the age of 70. She thought it was too late for her, but she wanted to make an impact. She became a human rights activist and has saved so many lives from sex trafficking. I was literally in tears at this brunch thinking that I once told myself the narrative that I was too old to stand for something. Lorraine is saving lives…

Here are the questions from the episode…

Write down something you’ve been wanting to do…but write it down as if you’re already doing it…

Ex. ‘I’m an artist’ or “I’m a photographer…”, “I transformed by health and my body” “I started a family and I’m an amazing momI’m dating and he’s the one— it can be anything.

Now, write down and a few things that could be stopping you, but leave a blank in front of the sentence. Is it time, Opinions, Money, Resources. Support, Fear, Fear of failure? Fear of the unknown? I’ll tell you right now. Everyone tuning into this is now your support system. We all have each other’s backs on live beautifully.

In front of everything you wrote down that could be keeping you small… I want you to write “I didn’t let — insert sentence —— and at the end “from stopping me and I’m so happy!

I’d love to hear from you after the episode!

  2. Lauren Turner says:

This episode brought me to tears. I have been thinking lately the same question: “what if it is too late for me?” I want to start photography to create the beauty in life but i am too scared of what people will think. Like what it they think i’m trying to hard or I don’t have talent.
I also think it is too late to get married. My man and I have been together for 6 years. I keep thinking there is a timeline and that I that I am behind in life compared to my friends. Listening to this episode reassured me that is far from the truth. I have a man that loves me so much and supports my happiness. Whenever we get married is life Thank you Katrina for always being real and vulnerable and there for me

  3. Kim says:

I absolutely loved this episode and found it incredibly inspiring. Thank you so much.
What i am struggling with now is knowing what I want to do. I have the job I wanted when I was 8 years old. 3 battles with cancer and endless rounds of ivf and u now have the children i so desperately dreamed of having. I am happily married and live in a beautiful home. I am incredibly grateful for all that I have. However, my youngest child is now 18 months and I feel a little lost This year has made realise that I want to do all of the things that I have only dreamed of doing and have job that I truly love, not a job I was expected to have.
The problem is, I don’t know what I actually want. I feel like I don’t know where to go next yet I have the energy, passion and desire to move forwards. Would it be possible to make a future episode on finding your passion?
Thank you so much for all that you are doing to inspire us 🥰💖💖💖

  4. Kat says:

I feel so motivated and start my day with lot’s of energy and inspiration. I also just quit my job and want to start my own business. You cover so much and this helps me a lot to stay on track. I will text you again when I did it 🙂 Is there a way to text to your number from Europe? Thanks, Kat

  5. Alicia says:

Love love love this. So happy she put the original episode on hold. Third time listening to this one and I want to listen to it again! It is not to late for me but just the beginning!

  6. Bhava says:

I listened to this while running and it really got to me. I’m over 40 and felt stuck! I decided then I’m going to start training for the half-marathon. And the next thing I know TIU has a 5k Programme… the pieces are fitting together! Thank you!

  7. Eleni says:

My walks with the stroller are no longer lonely thanks to you. This episode was a light for my soul today and I am forever grateful to you for sharing with us these words. It literally brought tears to my eyes. Love love love from Greece!

  8. Katie says:

I didn’t think this podcast would hit me so hard! My husband and I just followed our dream and moved to California. So many people didn’t understand why and tried to talk us out of it. But we did it – and we’re so happy!
Now we dream of owning our own businesses, pursing further education, starting a family, etc. and it’s so easy to get caught up in the fear and negativity. The visualization exercise was a great reminder that, if we’ve made it this far, whose to say how far we can go?
Thank you so much for always being real and taking the time to let us know how much potential we have, no matter the age or situation in life!

  9. Jen says:

Thank you so much for sharing this podcast and for starting! You have been an inspiration! I started following TIU 7 years ago and I loved the freshness that you and Karena brought into the Fitness World. I’m glad you didn’t listen to the naysayers and kept going and keep going! This podcast brought me to tears as I was listening and following along with my TIU5K program, I literally had to pause my treadmill, lol! When you asked the question, “What is the one thing you want or want to do in life? What is holding you back? Just do it! Live life without regrets!” (I’m paraphrasing) but I’m in my early 40’s and have wanted to pursue my college degree, it’s been on again off again for years, knowing that there are other women who feel the same way at my age, gives me hope! I’m going back to school this Fall, I’ve already submitted my application! This is the year to have no regrets and to Live Beautifully! Thank you for your kindness and inspiration that you have put out into the world!
