5 Ways to Set Yourself Up for Success

Hi I'm Katrina~ Welcome to Live Beautifully! We connect on all things life, love, motherhood, careers, and overcoming obstacles, together.

Thank you for tuning into Live Beautifully— it means so much to hear from all of you especially after the show. I love all your check ins, photos on walks listening, and of course, all of the tags and sharing it with your girlfriends. I appreciate you all so much.

As promised from last week’s episode… we are going to prepare for the New year. There are just 7 weeks left of the year… and we don’t have to wait until New Year’s Eve to decide what our resolutions are. Plus, even if you have a goal now, I want to make sure you’re fully equipt and set up for success.

A lot of times we have big goals for the new year, but as soon as the new year comes, so does life. And the same habits, routine, and life creeps in. It takes 21 days to form new habits, so it’s best to start some of those now, so we can be fully prepared January 1st.

So grab a pen and paper or your notepad on your phone and get ready for these steps to take before the new year:

1. GRATITUDE

It all starts with gratitude. First I want you to think of all the incredible things you’ve accomplished in the last year— you’re a survivor. You’re a warrior. You’ve persevered. Even the things that you’ve had to let go of are accomplishments. So write down 5 things that you’re incredibly proud of accomplishing in the last year. Next, write down 5 things you’re grateful for in your life. I want you to carry that gratitude each day for the next 7 weeks by journaling 1 thing you’re grateful for each day.

2. CLEAN IT OUT

Clean it out… literally everything. Clean out your pantry, your old spices, your closet, the garage, your phone of duplicate photos or screenshots, your email, desktop, the apps on your phone… get rid of the clutter. Start today and make a goal each week over the next 7 weeks to clean something out.

3. EXERCISE

Exercise… let’s not wait until the rush of January 1st to sweat it out. If you start now, you will more likely stick to it when the new year begins. I’m not talking hours every day— i know it’s a busy time of year. I mean, form the habit now. Let’s do 10-20 minutes of exercise each day.

4. AUDIT YOUR TIME

Do a full audit of your time – write down how you spend your day. Where do you feel like you waste time? Where can you free up time for new hobbies, goals, life, and peace? If you need, give yourselves some healthy boundaries- no opening Instagram when you first wake up- instead have your coffee and open your journal. Tune into your own life, not other’s. Exercise… meditate… spend breakfast as a family.

5. MINDSET & PERSPECTIVE

We can achieve so much more when we have a positive perspective. This is beyond #1 of gratitude. This is shifting our entire day and our mindset. I want you to Identify the negative areas of your life or the negative thought patterns you may have.

The best way to shift your mindset is to truly be aware of your thoughts, your surroundings, and your energy. What you give your energy to— grows. What you focus on most, becomes your reality. The words you say to yourself become your identity. Spend your day being kind to yourself, to others, and surround yourself with more positivity. What helps with this is to have daily affirmations. I’ll share some affirmations this weekend on LiveBeautifully.com.  I promise you-  Your mindset is the most powerful tool you have going into 2022! You can do this.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I can’t wait to connect again and I’ll be looking out for all your check ins after you’ve tuned in. I recommend grabbing a journal and start practicing the 5 things we talked about today and setting yourself up for your fresh start. We all need it— and we‘ve got this!
