Home Tour

Hi I'm Katrina~ Welcome to Live Beautifully! We connect on all things life, love, motherhood, careers, and overcoming obstacles, together.

I’m so excited to finally share our home tour. We’ve been in this house for over 4 years and we just finally ‘finished‘ (I say that loosely, because I do love to freshen things up). I’ll do more posts on the before and after photos… but we renovated each room and just took our time. If you’re anything like us, we’ve put everything in front of finishing our home- careers, work, life, etc, but creating a space that you can live beautifully in is so important so you have your own sanctuary at home.

My dream was to always include pieces from Uniqwa, an Australian company with head designer Charl van Heerden. They create the most beautiful furniture, designs, and pieces. I originally found them on Instagram and started saving their earth tone and organic designs for inspiration thinking I could probably never access their collection. That was until their amazing team Andrea and Belle shared that a local company here in Southern California called Pure Salt carries their pieces. If you haven’t heard of Pure Salt, you’re going to love them. Founders Leigh and Aly are so incredibly talented!

Also, it just so happens that the co-founder from Pure Salt also designed the flowers for our wedding… obviously I’ve loved her aesthetic and style for years. A complete full circle, meant-to-be moment.

Living Room

When it comes to design style, I would describe my style at the beach as ‘Coastal Chic’, with natural elements— earth tones and neutral textures. Throughout our home, you’ll find palms, coral, and accents of sage green and sea mist blue.

So when incorporating new pieces into the living room, I wanted to keep true to my style while adding in more unique details. To start, Pure Salt brought in fresh new pillows that includes all of those cozy earthy tones.

We’ve been wanting to redo the fireplace since we moved in and Brian did this beautiful custom tile job. If any of you are looking for someone who knows how to install Zellige tiles… he’s your guy! I’ll share more BTS of the whole process… but it’s amazing if you want to upgrade your fireplace without ripping everything out.

I love the look of open and inviting coffee table books. I also like the texture of beads, shells, rocks, and vases.

The coffee table and accent chairs tie everything together. The Hamali Block Coffee Table by Uniqwa is such a statement piece. It adds such interesting detail to the space while keeping that natural feel. For the accent chairs, we went with all white fabric/rope and a white oak wood for the frame.

You can also never go wrong with a candle to make it extra cozy. My all time favorite is the concrete Le Labo Candle (Definitely a splurge…but one that you can have for years. It smells amazing even if it’s not lit).

Outdoor Entertaining

One of the things I love to do the most is entertain. Having your space filled with friends, family, and laughter is the best feelings there is. We love this space to host dinner parties, holidays, drink our morning coffee, and have late nights with friends.

The corner is a comfy nook that overlooks the ocean. I had been eyeing the beautiful woven lounge chairs and sofa from Uniqwa for years and they’re everything I imagined and more. They’re complimented with the Inkolo coffee tables, which I love the natural shape and wood finish.

When I saw the Hamali Block Table Uniqwa, I fell in love. We decided to go with rattan dining chairs for a natural feel that would compliment the lounge area furniture.

We replaced the existing dark slate tile with this light porcelain herringbone tile last Spring. It really helped brighten up the space!

Dining, Kitchen & Bar

We have an open concept, which is perfect for entertaining. The four door cabinet is such a statement piece to the room. It’s substantial too… I’m not sure if these photos even do it justice! The design is so unique and unlike anything I’ve seen. Thanks to Leigh from Puresalt… she had the vision for this piece.

The Mila Pendants that we added above the island were actually the very first pieces by Uniqwa that I discovered that led me to them! We went back and forth between a few of their styles (there are a few that we love), but it worked out that Pure Salt brought these, and I’m so happy with how they change the space.

To complete the upstairs, we added a surfboard as a centerpiece leading up the stairs to bring in the classic beach vibes.

I’ll be sharing more rooms in the house including our bedroom, bathrooms, and playroom. We finally finished our gallery wall too, so I’m really excited to share for inspiration.

Thanks so much for coming by! And huge thank you to the Pure Salt and Uniqwa team for making our house feel like home. Love you all.
